Simultaneous interpretation

Simultaneous interpreting consists of orally translating in real time. The speaker talks normally, and translation users receive the message at the same time through receivers with headsets. Interpreters usually work isolated in a booth, and in pairs, switching approximately every half hour.

Some features of simultaneous interpretation:

immediate

practical, direct

requires technical setup

needs booths for the interpreters, headsets for the audience

suitable for most event formats

the best option when translating into several languages

does not lengthen the event

allows for interaction between the audience and the speaker (using a microphone)
