- Connect via Ethernet cable to your fibre network (not wi-fi) in order to provide a stable, good quality audio and video feed.
- Recommended: 10 Mbps up and downlink. You can test your connection speed at https://www.speedtest.net/.
- Not recommended: Wi-Fi connection.
- Use a reasonably powerful computer.
- Recommended: Intel Core i-3 or above, 4Gb RAM available or above, solid hard disk.
- Not recommended: joining from a tablet or smartphone.
- Use external microphone.
- Recommended: use an external noise-cancelling microphone. Good ear-bud headsets with a microphone are an acceptable second choice.
- Not recommended: laptop built-in microphone.
- Mute yourself while not speaking.
- Update your browser and use Chrome or Safari.
- On the eve of the event, update the video conference software.
- Find a quiet place for your conference.
It is highly advisable to have a dry run a few days before the event, to make sure all works smoothly. The computer, microphone, connection and set-up should be the same as on the event day.
